Zeus Load Balancer is a traffic management solution for providers of clustered network services such as Web or mail. It improves the performance, reliability and scalability of TCP/IP based network services such as Web, mail, news, FTP and database protocols using a combination of content-aware traffic management, performance and health monitoring and automatic fail-over in the event of hardware or software failure. Zeus Load Balancer can add traffic management intelligence to existing hardware load balancing solutions. It is available in the following Editions:

• Zeus Load Balancer Simplex: licenced for a single machine
• Zeus Load balancer Duplex: licenced per pair of fault-tolerant machines.

Zeus Load Balancer - Features

Zeus Load Balancer is a traffic management solution for providers of clustered network services such as Web or mail. It improves the performance, reliability and scalability of TCP/IP based network services such as Web, mail, news, FTP and database protocols using a combination of content-aware traffic management, performance and health monitoring and automatic fail-over in the event of hardware or software failure. Zeus Load Balancer can add traffic management intelligence to existing hardware load balancing solutions. Different servers can host separate applications, supporting a more complex environment. For instance:

• an application running on a cluster of Microsoft servers (ASP scripts or SQL Server)
• a Unix cluster running PHP and MySQL
• an IMAP or SMTP cluster.

When installed in conjunction with Zeus Web Server to decrypt SSL, Zeus Load Balancer can make intelligent balancing decisions rather than just maintaining SSL session persistence with the cluster.

It is available in the following Editions:

• Zeus Load Balancer Simplex: licenced for a single machine
• Zeus Load balancer Duplex: licenced per pair of fault-tolerant machines.

Features include:

• Installation: requires a single machine and includes a Getting Started guide
• User Interface: provides visual feedback on the status of servers, diagnostics and help with configuration
• Session Persistence: can be applied to parts of a Web site by specifying which parts need to be sticky
• Port Mapping: balance one port onto another to access services on non-standard ports, tunnel through firewalls and run the service and the balancer on the same machine
• FTP Load Balancing: an FTP proxy enables back-end FTP servers to be hidden and supports passive and active modes of FTP
• Connection Draining: add and remove machines from the server cluster
• Connection Limiting: specify limits on the number of connections to each hosted Web site so that the traffic to one site cannot overload the servers.
