GFI Faxmaker for Microsoft Exchange and SMTP offers seamless integration with Exchange Server for delivering fax communications to all workstations and applications in organisations.

GFI FaxMaker is a leading fax server that automates faxing and makes it cost-effective, efficient, scalable, simple and secure. GFI FaxMaker enables your users to easily send and receive faxes via email, the GFI FaxMaker web client or other integrated applications.

With a wide range of connectivity options to suit your infrastructure and business needs, GFI FaxMaker integrates seamlessly with your existing processes to provide an instant return on investment.

Key Benefits:

Automates time-consuming manual processes:

GFI FaxMaker integrates with your on-premise or cloud-based mail server, enabling users to send and receive faxes and SMS/text messages using their email client. You will save time, resources and lower the risk of confidential faxes being lost or read by unauthorised people. GFI FaxMaker also comes with feature-rich APIs for integration with other applications to support high volume and broadcast faxing.

Archives fax and SMS messages for easy message management and eDiscovery

Your administrators can quickly and easily search for archived faxes using the GFI FaxMaker archive viewer. An optical character recognition (OCR) module is also available to enable fast search and retrieval of fax and SMS messages from your email client or email archiving solutions. Integration with an archiving solution such as GFI Archiver™ will enable your company to back up, search and retrieve fax and SMS messages, maximising efficiency and faster response times to eDiscovery or internal inquiries.

Assists with compliance with regulations such as HIPAA or Data Protection Act

GFI FaxMaker provides enhanced data security by offering your organisation a secure and auditable way to send and receive confidential faxes. Automatic inbound routing sends faxes directly to the recipient’s desktop or device, eliminating the risk of being discarded or read by an unintended recipe.

Fax Server Virtualisation

Using GFI FaxMaker in a virtual environment, customers quickly benefit of drastically lower faxing TCO, helps with business continuity, enables you to consolidate hardware, reduces IT management and expenditure overheads and minimises power consumption.

Hybrid faxing

Hybrid faxing means you can use GFI FaxMaker with select online fax services, giving you all the enterprise functionality of an on-premise fax server combined with the technical simplicity of cloud-based fax services: no phone lines, modems, fax boards or PABX integration needed. You simply need GFI FaxMaker, an account with a supported service and an Internet connection.

Fax over IP (FoIP)

GFI FaxMaker integrates with your existing IP-enabled PBX or T.38 capable VoIP service provider to offer FoIP without any additional hardware requirements. GFI FaxMaker’s FoIP may also be used to implement least cost routing (LCR); resulting in a cost-effective reduction in international calls dialed (calls are translated into a local call rate).

GFI FaxMaker - Features

Current Features:

  • Web Based Client:

GFI FaxMaker offers a built-in web client interface. This allows users to fax through a simple, easy-to-learn web interface, and IT admins no do not need to deploy a client to each machine/user that requires faxing via client.

IT admins are able to update the web interface seamlessly and deliver all new features to everyone automatically and without having to redeploy and update each fax client agent.

For users who require particular security measures, the new web-based client allows them to provide secure faxing with HTTPS, giving them peace of mind that they are faxing in a secure and compliant manner.

  • Integration with GFI Archiver:

GFI FaxMaker integrates with our award-winning GFI Archiver to provide archiving and quick restore of any faxes sent and received via GFI FaxMaker.

Text in all faxes sent and received can be converted to text using the optional optical character recognition (OCR) module, therefore making searching, retrieval and fax routing far more efficient and less time consuming.

By using GFI Archiver alongside GFI FaxMaker, you get a compliant faxing system with a compliant archive system as well.

  • Virtualise your fax server:

Using GFI FaxMaker in a virtual environment, customers quickly benefit in many ways, both short and long term.  One immediate advantage is that with a virtualised GFI FaxMaker, you drastically lower the company’s total cost of ownership (TCO) for faxing.

When using Fax over IP or hybrid faxing (via GFI FaxMaker services, or etherFAX fax services) you eliminate the need for fax boards or modems.  This then allows GFI FaxMaker to be installed in a virtual environment.

Virtualising your fax server reduces cost, helps with business continuity, enables you to consolidate hardware, reduces IT management and expenditure overheads and minimises power consumption.

  • Fax over IP (FoIP), analog and digital faxing:  GFI FaxMaker supports faxing over IP using XCAPI and SR140, and also supports analog and digital fax boards from Dialogic.
  • Hybrid faxing: Combine GFI FaxMaker's powerful security and feature set with the simplicity of cloud-based faxing. No phone lines, modems or fax boards are required.

  • Automated fax routing: Inbound faxes are automatically routed directly to the intended recipient. Faxes can also be delivered to specific folders or printers.
