The Data Architect is designed to make the processes of linking, mapping, and retrieving data as simple as possible. It is meant to take the technicality out of pooling important data so that users across business units can access the information they need without specialised knowledge. The Data Architect’s goal is to provide complete transparency and easy-to-follow visual representations as a means to drastically simplify what has traditionally been a complex and time consuming process.

Desktop Authority Password Self-Service - Features

  • Secure Password Extension: A component of ScriptLogic Desktop Authority Password Self-Service, Secure Password Extension now provides the ability for end users to access the Self- Service Site from the Windows 7 logon screen by using a hyperlink. Password Self-Service dramatically reduces administrators workload by providing users with a convenient way to reset their passwords and perform other selfmanagement tasks on the Self-Service site
  • Disabled accounts management: ScriptLogic Desktop Authority Password Self-Service provides a convenient way to manage users disabled accounts. Password Self-Service allows users to reenable their disabled accounts by using the Self-Service site, thus eliminating the need for assistance from system administrators.
  • Registration notification: ScriptLogic Desktop Authority Password Self-Service offers an enhanced registration notification for users through a dialog box displayed on end-user computers where users can choose whether to register immediately or postpone the registration. Administrators can fully customise the dialog box to comply with specific corporate requirements: select language, change text, and specify the notification recurrence interval.

Desktop Authority Password Self-Service works with Windows 2000, Windows 2003, and Windows 2008 domains, including domains operating in a mixed mode. Ensure that each of the client computers meets the following minimum software requirements:

To be able to implement password policies in an Active Directory domain managed by Desktop Authority Password Self-Service, you must deploy the Desktop Authority Password Self-Service component on all domain controllers in the managed domain. The domain controllers where you plan to install the 32-bit or 64 bit- version of Desktop Authority Password Self-Service component must meet the following requirements:

To allow password resets from the Windows logon screen, you must deploy the Secure Password Extension on all target computers in the managed domain. The target computers must meet the following minimum software requirements:
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0, 7.0, or 8.0

We do not recommend use of any plug-ins for Microsoft Internet Explorer on computers where you plan to deploy Secure Password Extension, since the plug-ins extend Internet Explorer functionality and could pose security threats
