Polar Draw - Features

Polar Draw is an ActiveX drawing tool that supports the creation, display, editing, storing and printing of vector drawings. The functionality supports:

• Flowcharting: the link object connects shapes. The following properties can be set:
  • Arrowheads, style and size
  • Line colour, thickness and style
  • Shape name for easier identification.
• Object links in flowcharting:
  • Rectilinear and direct object links
  • Ability to edit nodes and links through source code
  • Object avoidance: auto-routing algorithm routes the connecting line around other objects
  • Adjusting the position of the first and the last point of a link.
• Vector Drawing: pre-defined shapes including:
  • Arcs

  • Filling shapes with patterns, textures, pictures (BMP,JPG, GIF, metafiles) and with all standard colours
  • Bitmap effects to shapes and/or its shadows (brighten, add and limit colour, transparency, heatmap, tinted greyscale, custom colour map, invert etc)
  • Lens effects.
• Text Editing: including:
  • Plain text for drawing titles, logos or other short text that is to be rotated, stretched, flipped or custom filled
  • Text boxes for manipulating large blocks of formatted text
  • Displaying and editing text in any shape
  • WYSIWYG RTF text editor.
• Object Model: manipulate shapes and events
• Database Connections: read data from or write data to a memory variable defined as a Binary Large Object (BLOB) enabling the storage and retrieval of Polar Draw documents in a database table

• Co-ordinate System: a single absolute co-ordinate system that uses the following and allows switching from one to another:

• Printing: print the whole drawing or selected shapes and specify print settings such as margins, orientation and paper size. It provides complete control of printing via the Print Preview and PrinterSetup dialogue box
