Protects mail servers and groupware servers from malicious programs and spam. It includes applications that protect popular mail servers and can be used to set up a dedicated mail gateway.

Kaspersky Security for Mail Server provides from malicious programs and spam on mail servers and groupware servers . It includes applications that protect many mail servers including Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Notes/Domino, Sendmail, Qmail, Postfix and Exim and it can be used to set up a dedicated mail gateway.

It comprises of the following:

Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Microsoft Exchange

  • Real-time Scanning of e-mail Messages: the application scans incoming and outgoing messages for viruses in real time.
  • Anti-virus Scanning of e-mail Databases: removes viruses from messages received prior to program installation and after anti-virus databases are updated from previously scanned messages.
  • Virus Outbreak Prevention: the virus outbreak recognition mechanism enables the administrator to take measures to strengthen the anti-virus protection of the mail server.
  • Backup Copying of Objects: restore information if an attempt to treat infected objects results in an error and send objects for analysis to Kaspersky Lab experts.
  • Scalability: the application is scaled according to the number of processors installed on the server protected. Several copies of the anti-virus engine can be launched to increase the application performance.

Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Linux Mail Server

  • Anti-virus Scanning: all elements of e-mail messages are scanned for malicious code. The application scans for and removes all types of viruses, Trojans, spyware, malicious and potentially hostile programs from incoming and outgoing mail messages and attachments in most formats.
  • Backup Copies: backup storage can be created to store copies of infected objects before they are treated, making it possible to restore if necessary.
  • Scanning By Attachment Type: the application can be configured to filter mail traffic by attachment name and file type and to apply specified processing rules for each category.
  • Scanning By User Group: administrators can create user groups, assign individual message processing rules to each group and define user privileges for each group.
  • Remote Administration: can be configured via the application configuration file or using the web interface.

Kaspersky Anti-virus for Lotus/Domino

  • Anti-virus Scanning of Mail Traffic: scans message bodies and attachments (including compressed and archived attachments) for viruses and other types of malicious programs such as adware and spyware.
  • Real-time Monitoring of Protection Status: the administrator can be alerted if an infected message is detected, making it possible to monitor the status of anti-virus protection and respond without delay to events requiring attention.
  • Processing Options for Infected Objects: infected objects can be cured, deleted or delivered to the recipient without changes, depending on the application settings.
  • Virus Outbreak Prevention: stop the receipt or sending of e-mail if the sending or receipt frequency exceeds a value specified by the administrator.
  • Scalability: the application supports cluster servers, networks with distributed configurations and virtual servers. It is possible to launch several copies of the anti-virus engine.

Kaspersky Mail Gateway

  • Anti-virus Scanning: scans for and removes all types of viruses, malicious and potentially hostile programs in all elements of incoming and outgoing e-mail messages including attachments.
  • Spam Filtering: scans e-mail traffic for spam based on formal attributes and analysis of message contents and attachments using intelligent technologies including graphical signatures for detecting spam in the form of images.
  • Quarantine: infected and suspicious objects and messages identified as spam can be moved to a quarantine folder where the administrator can view or delete them or forward them to the end user.
  • Scanning By Attachment Type: the application can be configured to filter e-mail traffic by attachment name and file type to identify objects that are likely to contain viruses.
  • Scanning By User Group: the administrator can define separate message processing rules for each group of mail system users by defining limitations in accordance with the security policy and employee needs.
  • Protection Against Unauthorised Server Access: can be configured to prevent DoS attacks and third party attempts to use the server for launching unauthorised mass mailings.

Kaspersky Administration Kit

  • Single-point Administration; deploy anti-virus protection, set parameters for groups and individuals, update anti-virus databases and program modules, monitor system status and respond to critical situations from the administrator workstation.
  • Minimal Disruption: administrators can perform all tasks related to deploying and maintaining the company anti-virus protection remotely without disrupting end users.
  • Tightened Security: configure the administrator role and task definitions, audit administrative activities and exchange data via SSL.
  • Remote Installation: computers can be added to the administration group manually or automatically using the physical network structure, Active Directory service or IP address ranges.
  • Centralised Administration: configure parameters for applications across all nodes on the managed network (including laptops) and update anti-virus databases and program modules centrally from the administrator workstation.
