  • Instant Data Analysis: The Quick Analysis tool allows users to convert data into a chart or table quickly. Data can be previewed with conditional formatting, sparklines or charts.
  • Entire Column Data Fill: Flash Fill is a data assistant that helps users complete their work quickly. It detects what the user wants to do and enters the rest of the data in one go, following the pattern it recognises in the users data.
  • Chart Recommendation: Excel finds the most suited chart for the user in regards to its data. Charts can be previewed of how data will be shown.
  • Filter Table Data: Slicers can now also filter data in Excel tables, query tables and other data tables.
  • One Workbook: Allows the users to work on two worksbooks at once.
  • Excel Functions: New Functions in the math and trigonometry, statistical, engineering, data and time, lookup and reference, logical and text function category.

  • New File Format: Save to and open files in the new Strict Open XML Spreadsheet (*.xlsx) file format which allows users to read and write ISO8601 dates to resolve a leap year issue for yea 1900.
