Radmin (Remote Administrator) is secure remote control and remote access software for working on a remote computer with access from multiple locations. It includes full support for file transfer, multi-user text and voice chats, Microsoft Windows security, Kerberos authentication, 256-bit AES encryption for data streams, telnet access, multiple monitors support and DirectScreenTransfer technology. It uses the TCP/IP protocol to provide access to a remote computer from anywhere in the world over LAN and WAN.

How it works

Radmin 3 consists of two modules:

• Radmin Server - install it on the remote computer (for example your office PC).
• Radmin Viewer - install it on the local computer (for example your home PC or notebook) which you want to use to access your remote computer.

New Features in Version 3.3

The new version now supports Intel AMT (Active Management Technology), a remote control technology, which is integrated into the hardware component of PC based on Intel vPro platform. The AMT support capability means that Radmin 3.3 is now able to switch on, restart and shut down the remote computer. It also enables the user to view and change the BIOS settings of the remote computer and to boot it from local or network disk.

By using the new Radmin 3.3 software system administrators can connect to a remote computer even when it is turned off making all the tasks more efficient. In the event that the remote computer suffers an operating system failure on the remote computer an administrator can simply obtain access to the text-mode remote screen during its' boot-up process and restore the OS.

The new free version of Radmin Viewer supports Intel AMT (Active Management Technology) and enables the following features:

• Reboot, turn on and off a remote PC.
• BIOS remote control.
• Network boot.
• Startup remote control

Features in Radmin 3.2 Remote Control

This new version - with Windows Vista SP1 and Windows Server 2008 support - is even faster, more reliable and more secure. It has the following updates and modifications:

• Support for Windows Vista SP1. As a Certified Partner of Microsoft, Famatech keeps up the pace with the updates of Microsoft products. Users of Windows Vista with installed SP1 can now use Radmin 3.2 on their computers.
• Support for Windows Server 2008. Since Radmin is often used for administering a corporate network, Radmin 3.2 now supports Windows Server 2008.

Highest Speed of Work
Radmin is the fastest remote control software available anywhere. Its new DirectScreenTransfer technology uses a video hook kernel mode driver to boost the capture rate to hundreds of screen updates per second. Its special low-bandwidth optimizations lets you work comfortably even on dial-up modem and GPRS connections.

Highest Security Level
Radmin works in encrypted mode where all data, screen images, mouse movements and keyboard signals are encrypted using 256-Bit AES strong encryption with randomly generated keys for each connection. For user authentication Radmin can use either Windows security with Active Directory and Kerberos support, or its own security with individual user permissions and secure login/password authentications. Radmin security uses Diffie-Hellman based key exchange with 2048-bit key size. Additional IP filters restrict access to specific hosts and networks.

Text and Voice Chat
Text Chat, Voice Chat and Send Message modes, which are new for Radmin version 3, all were developed to help you communicate with a person who operates a remote computer that you are connecting to.

Installation process

• Installation file size is decreased.
• An exception rule for the Radmin port in the Windows Firewall settings is created automatically upon Radmin installation.
• New Radmin installation will replace the previous one while retaining server settings.

Activation process

• Proxy-server is supported when activating Radmin Server copy.
• Support for Radmin Activation Server (a new piece of software developed by Famatech that enables system administrators in large local networks to easily deploy and activate Radmin Server).

Secure "Drag and Drop" file Transfer with "Delta Copy" feature
With Radmin you can securely drag and drop any files via its Explorer-like interface to or from a remote computer in encrypted mode. Radmin has a feature it uses when copying files that allows updating of only that part of a file which is different on both machines. This feature is called "Delta Copy" since only the difference between files ('delta') is copied. It lets you continue copying after a network fault from the place where fault occurred rather than from the beginning. This feature is used automatically when any file is being copied to or from the remote machine.

Multiple Connections Support
Radmin supports simultaneous multiple connections to the same remote screen. This means that you can invite your friends or colleagues to view your screen remotely (very handy for conferencing) or you can view or control several remote screens from your own computer's screen (very handy for remote helpdesk or teaching).

Radmin - System Requirements

Radmin has no special hardware requirements. If your computer is capable of running Windows 95 or higher, the Radmin Viewer 3 will run. It even runs on a 486 computer with 8 MB RAM.

Radmin Viewer 3 requirements:

Will run on Windows 9x/ME/NT/2000/XP/2003 Server/Vista/2008 Server (32-bit and 64-bit versions)

Radmin Server 3 requirements:

• Will run on Windows 2000/XP/2003 Server/Vista/2008 Server (32-bit and 64-bit versions)
• Running Voice Chat will require a sound card, speakers and a microphone.
• Radmin will still operate successfully even when the monitor, mouse and keyboard are not connected to the remote computer. However some computers do not boot successfully without a keyboard plugged in.

For All Operating Systems (Win9x/ME/NT/2000/XP/2003 Server/Vista/2008 Server):

• The computer should have TCP/IP (the most-used protocol for networking computers) installed.

Windows NT 4.0:

• Service pack 6 or higher is required.

Windows 2000/XP/2003 Server/Vista/2008 Server:

• Administrators rights or elevated privileges are required to install Radmin Server.
