Norton AntiVirus scans and cleans instant-message attachments and e-mail messages and removes viruses, worms and Trojan horses automatically whilst automatic updates provide a defence against new viruses. Worm blocking technology detects worms such as Nimda in outgoing mail to prevent them from infecting other computers and Script Blocking defends against fast-moving script-based viruses. Worm Blocking and Script Blocking can detect new threats before virus definitions have been created for them.
Norton AntiVirus includes step-by-step instructions for installation (including on a computer that has been infected), it runs in the background to minimise disruption to work or play and it is designed to take up only a small amount of the computer's memory and hard disk space.
